A historic groundbreaking for the future - Press Event

When the starting signal was given for one of the world’s largest carbon capture facilities, it was more than just the beginning of construction — it was a signing event of international stature. On a day defined by optimism and forward thinking, senior political leaders and business executives gathered to mark the beginning of a new chapter in sustainable technology.

The objective was crystal clear: to create a setting that matched the significance of the project. With world-class technology, carefully curated décor, and logistics designed entirely around the guest experience, a raw construction site was transformed into an arena for global headlines.

A Studio at the Heart of the Action
Hosting an event at an active construction site requires both sensitivity and technical expertise. The challenge was to build an environment refined enough for broadcast production, while still providing shelter and comfort for dialogue and networking.

We scouted the ideal location on site and erected a tent that became the heart of the project. Every detail was thoughtfully considered:

• Technology for global news coverage: A stage and technical setup designed to deliver crystal-clear broadcast material to major international media outlets.

• Visual identity: Brand colours and full-coverage carpeting set the tone, reflecting the client’s identity in everything from décor to furnishings.

• Guest comfort first: Wind protection, seating, and catering created a space where guests could comfortably engage throughout the day.

Where Leadership Meets Media

The guest list was exclusive and expectations were high. Among the 50 attendees were Sweden’s Minister for Climate and the Environment, Romina Pourmokhtari, EU Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra, and senior representatives from both Microsoft and Stockholm Exergi.

The day opened with impactful keynote speeches that immediately positioned the project in a global context. The defining moment — the ceremonial first shovel — became a powerful visual captured by photographers and journalists alike. Afterwards, time was dedicated to in-depth interviews and smaller group discussions, where Egil Nybakk, incoming Head of BECCS Stockholm, shared the vision behind the facility.
